We get to experience some really cool things living here. One of them happened yesterday. We had a fire truck, ambulance and some other related vehicles pull into our driveway . The first instinct is “Oh no, what have we done now?” But loads of guys got out and casually were walking around not acting too concerned about anything. It was early enough in the day that hubby was still here. One of the men came and talked to him and then everyone headed down to the lake. It turns out that they needed a place to practice their water rescue and one of the neighbors told them we had a boat ramp. They were here for several hours. It was fun to watch them. It did raise questions with other neighbors who called to make sure no one had drowned. I suppose it would be a scary sight if you didn’t know what was going on.
Another really cool thing happened earlier this summer. Some turtles decided to sun themselves on our beach. And I don’t mean just a couple!
Not sure how much desire I have to swim in our lake knowing that this many turtles are in there!
